Children's Privacy & Parental Consent

Last Updated: March 22, 2026

Athlete Sitter ("the Service"), operated by GBobble, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting the privacy of children. This page explains how we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) when a parent or legal guardian registers a child under the age of 13 as an athlete on the platform.

1. Who Can Register a Child?

Children under 13 cannot create their own accounts. Only a parent or legal guardian with an active Athlete Sitter parent account may register a child under 13 as an athlete. The child must be at least 10 years old to be registered as an athlete. By completing the registration process, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the collection and use of the child's information as described here and in our Privacy Policy.

2. What Information Do We Collect?

When you register your child as an athlete, we collect only the minimum information needed for the account to function:

  • First name and last name - to identify the child on the platform.
  • Date of birth - to determine age-based restrictions and eligibility.
  • Phone number - required for account login (OTP authentication). The child will use this number to log in.
  • Address information - defaults to the parent's address on file, with the option to provide a different address.
  • Email address - set to the parent's email address for all communications.

We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary for the child to participate as an athlete on the platform.

3. How Do We Use This Information?

  • To create and maintain the child's athlete account.
  • To enforce age-based restrictions (see Section 5 below).
  • To send account-related communications to the parent's email address.

We do not use the child's information for marketing, behavioral advertising, or any purpose unrelated to the Service.

4. Do We Share This Information?

We do not sell, rent, or share a child's personal information with third parties for their own commercial purposes. Information may be disclosed only as necessary to operate the Service (for example, to our hosting provider), to comply with legal obligations, or to protect the safety of users.

5. Restrictions for Athletes Under 13

To protect children, the following restrictions apply to all athlete accounts where the user is under 13 years of age:

  • No messaging. Athletes under 13 cannot send or receive messages on the platform. Trainers and other users cannot initiate conversations with them.
  • No dashboard access. Athletes under 13 cannot access the athlete dashboard or any interactive features. When they log in, they see a restricted view explaining that their account is managed by their parent.

These restrictions are enforced automatically based on the child's date of birth and apply until the child turns 13.

6. Your Rights as a Parent

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected from your child by viewing the child's information on your Parent Dashboard.
  • Update or correct your child's information at any time through the Parent Dashboard.
  • Delete your child's athlete account and all associated data at any time. Deleting the athlete registration removes the child's user account; you may still keep the child as an information-only entry on your dashboard if you wish.
  • Withdraw consent at any time by deleting the child's athlete registration from your Parent Dashboard.

We will not require a child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to participate as an athlete, and we will never condition a child's participation on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary.

7. Data Retention

We retain a child's account data only for as long as the parent maintains the athlete registration. When a parent deletes the child's athlete account, we delete the associated user record and personal information. Residual backups may be retained for a limited period consistent with our standard data retention practices, but will not be used for any active purpose.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. If we make material changes to how we handle children's data, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected parents.

9. Contact Us

If you have questions about this policy or about how we handle your child's information, you can contact us at info@athletesitter.com.
